  Sports Betting Money Management

I have 4 different bet amounts. My bets are for either $250, $500, $750 or $1000. Majority of my bets are for $500 or $750.

To make things universal, lets say that my bets are for either 1 unit, 2 units, 3 unit or 4 units. In my case, 1 unit is $250. You can set your unit size to whatever you want.

Aggressive Bankroll Managment: This is ideal for people with bankroll of $5000 or less. I would suggest that you set 1 unit = 1.5% of your bankroll. So, 2 unit is 3%, 3 unit is 4.5% and 4 unit is 6%. Use these aggressive percentage only when you are looking to grow your bankroll to re-invest. It is not recommended to continue at this pace.

Semi Aggressive Bankroll Management: This is ideal for clients with bankroll of over $5000 who want to play it extra safe. I would suggest that you set 1 unit = 1%, 2 unit = 2%, 3 unit = 3% and 4 unit = 4%

Conservative Bankroll Management: 1 unit = 0.5%, 2 unit = 1%, 3 unit = 1.5%, 4 unit = 2%.  This is the safest for long term success and growth. Pros who make a living with sports betting use this method.  Ideal for clients with Bankroll of $25000 and up.

-----------------

Do not let the winnings or losing affect your unit size. Once you establish the bankroll and unit size, keep that fixed regardless of the outcome of your your bets. Increase your unit size only if you re-establish your bankroll to a higher amount by adding some of your winnings after a period of time. However, it is not recommended to keep increasing for ever and ever. Withdraw the winnings and enjoy the money instead of adding it all to your bankroll to continue increasing your bankroll/unit size!

Good sports betting money management is the key to long term success/profit. Its all about discipline and patience.

If you are betting online, I don't recommend betting more than $2000 on a single bet (this means you shouldn't set your 1 unit to more than $500) because you don't want to win too much and make your book uncomfortable. Hack him slow and steady instead of nuking him right away. If you can afford to bet bigger, just go to Las Vegas. It is true that there are some good online books that will accept very large wagers but the problem starts only when you win consistently. Once the book realizes that you are taking money from them consistently, they will limit your account. If you stay under the radar in the big books, they will not give you any trouble.
